Artist Bio
Ann Mory Wydeven is a storyteller, mosaic colorist, and naturalist who works primarily in terracotta clay, mosaic and concrete. Wydeven holds a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Masters of Fine Art from Rhode Island School of Design. She is the owner of AMW Sculpture Studio in the production of mosaic installation, sculpture and pottery. As a retired faculty member of Alverno College, she continues to engage in local outreach with colleges in the area. As an educator, she has extensive experience working within K-12 public, private and charter schools in the Milwaukee area. At Redline Milwaukee, Ann mentored emerging and mid-career artists at the artist residency program for 8 years. Public art residencies, adult workshops and through residencies at nonprofit art education and conservation groups, she built programs that engage students in language, art and art practice. She participated in imagery and curriculum for a series of the "We Love to Learn" books at SHARP Literacy. Her large mosaic murals with emergency shelters, veterans’ groups, and at-risk teen groups have changed the landscape of urban areas. Her public works have been awarded regional and international awards and grants. Her work is in private and public corporate collections throughout Wisconsin. Her mural work and mosaic installations are seen in local restaurants, hospitals and storefronts or as public sculpture in Milwaukee and the surrounding areas.
