Pollock Aquatic Center
Oshkosh, Wisconsin | Project Completed in 2006
Pollock Aquatic Center public multigenerational swimming center in Oshkosh, WI. The project proposal was to create 4 mosaic murals depicting the aquatic life of Lake Winnebago. I worked closely the building committee and construction crew. One mural is a 5x5 foot painted turtle scene. Another mural is 5x7 foot series of leopard frogs. The third is 5x7 feet and depicts brocade cut fish tile. On this mural are donor names and corporations. The last of the murals is 5x12 and depicts the variety of fish in Lake Winnebago, highlighting the sturgeon, northern pike and walleye.
The murals can be found in the entrance to the pool on walls that flank the locker rooms in a breeze way space. The murals were mounted in the reverse indirect method and adhered to the building walls on site. Sculptor Tom Queoff framed the murals in bronze stock framing.
