Water Features

Water Features I and II South East Wisconsin | Project Completed in 2010

Water Feature I

In this project, I worked with Deep River Partners and Brian Witteman to create the interior entrance to this Italianate home with a water feature consisting of a two-toned marble wall alcove as the framework for a fountain. The ceramic dolphin in the alcove, opens its mouth to pour water into a large terracotta urn. My part in the creation of the feature was to build the large urn or vessel. It is a 3 part sectional piece with bas relief dancers who move around the belly of the vessel. They are affixed with a heavy iron strap. The dolphin is a symbol of the protector. It is a prominent feature that finishes this entry with a subtle sound of wind and water, symbolic of harmony and happiness.

Water Feature II

The exterior mosaic waterfall feature is located in a sunken patio outside a large game room. It shares a wall just below the private pool. The curved, concrete wall is surfaced with Venetian glass mosaic. The water gently rolls over the Tuscan mosaic landscape and is caught in a trough lit with multicolored lights. The design and placement of the mural can be enjoyed from the interior of the home, as well as from the patio.
